The Karate Kid (2010)

Starring Jackie Chan and Jaden Smith, son of successful singer and actor, Will Smith, The Karate Kid (2010), like the rest, does not fail to entertain.

Single mother Sherry Parker, played by Taraji P Henson, and her 12-year-old son Dre leave Detroit for a new life in China. But within hours of settling in, Dre forms an enemy with popular class bully, Cheng after he immediately falls for his classmate, Mei Ying.

With hardly any experience in kung fu, Dre is faced with Cheng and his friends who have learnt from their kung fu master, to show "no mercy" on their opponent. Dre is finally saved by the maintenance man, Mr. Han, a secret master of kung fu.

Dre calls up on Han to teach him kung fu so that he can face up to the bullies and fight back. He soon comes to realise that kung fu is not about throwing punches and kicks, but about being calm and observant.

As they prepare for a kung fu tournament, both Han and Dre know that this will be a fight for their life.

An action packed drama with humour, The Karate Kid is one I would definately watch again.
