Russell Howard's Good News

The first time I saw Russell Howard perform on stage was at the Comedy Club in Leicester Square. Well I think it was him anyway. Regardless, I remember sitting there thinking who are you? But it wasn’t until I began watching his show; Russell Howard’s Good News, on BBC Three when I realised that he is actually funny.

As the comedian stands on stage in his brightly coloured t-shirt and jeans during the 30 minute production, Russell Howard shows us a different and more humorous side of the most recent news stories that have been broadcasted around the globe, together with his own witty comments and strange views to make it just that extra bit more amusing.

The show covers a variety of topics such as religion, politics, animals, people and sports along with general news coverage from around the world, combined with related videos from networking sites such as You-Tube to give it an extra kick.

And with a “Mystery Guest” at the end of each episode - whom he knows nothing about – it’s hilarious watching him trying to discover who this guest is and why they’ve been on the news.

Although he isn’t the funniest lad in town, I always seem to find myself laughing even more than I did in the episode before, which leaves me thinking, with his first series having just come to an end, what has he in store for the second?
